Under the direction of Chef Deborah Schneider (author of Baja! Cooking on the Edge) SOL Cocina brings the flavors and laid-back beach vibe of the Baja California coast to southern California.

Set on the Newport Marina, near Balboa Island, the 170-seat restaurant and bar is designed by Thomas Schoos to echo the expansive sea and sky of the Baja peninsula. An open ‘proscenium’ kitchen with customer seating on three sides brings the immediacy and freshness of a beach taco bar to guests.

The menu features fresh Pacific seafood and shellfish, wagyu beef, heirloom pork and poultry and locally raised vegetables  in an array of antojitos (small plates) and freshly-made tacos as well as entrees like Spiny Lobster Paella, grilled wagyu beef with garlic spinach, and Caldo 7 Mares. A full bar will celebrate  the flavors of the region with artisan tequilas and mescals in innovative preparations.
